Manaus Fund’s Valley Settlement Project

 In Uncategorized

Eloisa Duarte is a true force to be reckoned with as the Parent Mentor Coordinator at Manaus Fund’s Valley Settlement Project and co-founder of Cocina del Valle. A recent article in the Post Independent tells the story of how Eloisa found her place in the Roaring Fork Valley community through mentoring, and in turn has encouraged dozens of families to follow suit.

Eloisa’s son Mario volunteers with the Buddy Program as a Peer-to-Peer Big Buddy in Carbondale. Mario is a senior at Roaring Fork High School this year and received a Continuing Education Scholarship from the Buddy Program to help him pursue his dream of becoming a teacher.

We are looking forward to watching this wonderful family continue to thrive as integral members of our community in the years to come! They exemplify the Buddy Program’s belief that everyone needs a mentor.
