Lemonade Day is a nationwide program held each year in over 35 participating cities across the country. The program is designed to be an experiential learning initiative where the community unites to teach youth financial literacy and entrepreneurship by guiding them to start, own and operate their own business – a lemonade stand.
Lemonade Day Aspen is free for all K-12 youth from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. Upon registration, youth will receive a backpack complete with a youth and adult workbook. The first component of the activity is a month-long learning experience through which a child and a caring adult exercise a step-by-step process of creating a business. The second component of Lemonade Day is the actual implementation of the business, which takes place on Lemonade Day: Saturday, June 30th 2012.
This year’s Lemonade Day will include collaborations with other youth organizations and schools throughout the Roaring Fork Valley, allowing the Buddy Program to reach even more youth through a different model of learning and mentoring.
