Heather Hicks – Senior Program Coordinator/Case Manager (6+ years)

KAHeather joined the Buddy Program in May 2005 as a Program Coordinator/Case Manager. Prior to working at the Buddy Program, she assisted the editorial and sales departments at the Aspen Times and contributed articles to local publications as a freelance writer. Building upon this experience, Heather soon became a Public Relations liaison at the Buddy Program, writing articles, providing television and radio interviews and securing media sponsorships. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology and Spanish from The University of Michigan. Heather is bilingual in Spanish and lived abroad twice in Spain. In August 2006, she participated in a graduate course in Anthropology in the high Andes in Peru. In the fall of 2009, Heather led the expansion of a pilot mentoring program at the Carbondale Middle School. In January 2010, Heather became a certified Yoga teacher for children and has worked with youth in the Experiential Programs in addition to her role as Senior Program Coordinator/Case Manager in the Aspen Community Program. In the fall of 2011, Heather became the Director of Lemonade Day Aspen. Her duties include creating partnerships with youth organizations, securing sponsorships and overseeing the implementation of the program in the Roaring Fork Valley. Heather is a former Big Buddy and enjoys rock climbing, skiing, and exploring new cultures.
